Park Operations (Rides and Guest Arrival), Culinary Operations and Merchandise Operations

Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are looking for qualified candidates to join the Leadership Intern Program.  Interns selected for this program will have an opportunity to network and gain hands-on leadership experience.  The objective of our program is to offer interns a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of theme park business management.

The requirements of the interns are as follows:

• Commit to working through the 2010 peak operating season (May-August)
• Excellent human relations skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Initiative and sound judgment
• Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays)

Interns will be offered a leadership position in Park Operations (Rides or Guest Arrival), Culinary Operations, or Merchandise at Busch Gardens or Water Country USA.  They will be responsible for the location(s) assigned to them.  These responsibilities include:

• Supervising and coordinating daily activities to include employee scheduling, rotation schedules and break schedules
• Coaching and counseling team members
• Training team members and ensuring completion of training documentation
• Maintaining safety standards for team members and guests
• Ensure World Class Service for guests and team members
• Resolving guest concerns on the spot

Interns will also participate in:

• Weekly seminars held by various departments
• Park tours with members of the park’s leadership team
• Meetings with the park’s senior leadership team
• Completion of a comprehensive group internship project due at the completion of the program
• An evaluation process spread over the entire internship period

Locations and positions will be based upon application qualifications and availability.  This is a paid internship and can be used for credits based on the requirements of your College or University.  Please see your school for requirements.
